The Clinic or Introductory Course in Hand Engraving is a must for anyone who wants to become acquainted with the original and authentic craft of decorative techniques on metal. It also offers an orientation option for participation in the Masterclass Hand Engraving Basic Module.
During this clinic or introductory course in Hand Engraving you will be introduced to the craft and decoration technique on metal: hand engraving. Using a burin (engraving tool), decorations, a name, symbols or letters are engraved on a copper plate that is designed according to your own ideas. Jacqueline Jimmink explains how to use the burins to manually engrave lines and hatches. The trembling technique is also discussed: a technique to create contrast in the drawing.
Each participant goes home with one or two self-made pieces of work that can be given their own application.

No prior knowledge is required for this clinic or introductory Hand Engraving course. Everyone can participate: young and old 9-99 years, amateur and beginner. No drawing talent is required.
The short course is completed with a certificate.
Jacqueline Jimmink carries out engraving assignments, realizes her own creations and gives engraving courses and intensive master classes, both in her own studio and on location.
She was born and raised on Texel in the Netherlands. In 1988, Jacqueline started her engraving training at the Polytechnic School MTS Vakschool van Schoonhoven. She specialized in engraving weapons during her internship at the Browning weapons engraving workshop in Liège (Belgium), which is affiliated with the FN arms factory. In addition to her internship, she perfected her technique of engraving with hammer and chisel through a study at the Technical School de l'ecole d'armurerie ICET – Leon Mignon, and gained practical experience at Browning.
In 1995 Jacqueline experimented with the most refined and refined Italian techniques with 'bulino' and magnifying glass. She worked with the engraving workshop Cesare Giovanelli in Gardone Val Trompia (Brescia, Italy), which has worked for the Beretta arms factory for many years, and gained practical experience in various Italian goldsmith and engraving workshops. At the end of 1995 she moved to Milan, where she continued her work as a hand engraver. She shared her knowledge of the fascinating art of engraving through demonstrations and courses at fairs, exhibitions and events in Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and Italy. In September 1997, Jacqueline entered into a collaboration with the renowned international engraving and goldsmith studio of jeweler Gianmaria Buccellati. Here she gained practical experience in engraving jewelry.
In March 1999, Jacqueline Jimmink established herself as an independent craftswoman. When she moved back from Italy to Texel with her family in 2014, she took the knowledge of the Italian masters with her. And she likes to share it.
